Slovakia and our final concert

The departure from Dunakeczi this morning was sad after an evening with such gracious hosts. It was early, but we had some country roads to navigate on our way to Kosariska.

A warm greeting awaited us in Kosariska but the big hit of the party was the litter of puppies.

After lunch, we set up the bells and rehearsed a short bit:

The town of Kosariska has a great number of ties to General Stefanik, a French General from WWI and a native son. His ties to Pittsburgh stem from the agreement that created Chechoslovakia that was signed in the vicinity of Heinz Hall (and you can still find the historical marker between the Benedum and Heinz Hall). We visited the monument to this great man in the afternoon.

The concert was a big event in town and the ringers were treated to an enthusiastic audience once again!

After signing many programs and answering lots of questions, we packed up the bells for the final time and headed off to a reception and then to our host families. Tomorrow we will once again see our friends from Katerinice as return their bells and tables and then on to our final day in Prague.
